Hi, my name is Melissa. I’m just another Millennial Christian, trying to find their way back to the church. My parents raised me in the United Methodist Church, where I was considered a model Christian teen. However, over the course of the last few years, I have found myself struggling to maintain my life of faith. During my time at college, I didn’t settle on one church family, but rather chose to expose myself to as many traditions as I could.
After graduation, I found myself, like many of my peers, burdened with a seemingly insurmountable amount of debt and a lack of career options. I began working two retail jobs to make ends meet, but this in turn forced me to work during most church services. Over time, I felt more and more distant from other Christians, and stopped attending church. Now, I’m making the decision to recommit to my faith.
I’ve also been considered a bookworm for most of my life. I even got an award for it in middle school. Now, I’m hoping to turn this passion for the written word into a career in Christian publishing. This means that literary references and books will pop up on this blog from time to time, along with musings about our created world, current events, and social justice issues. Thanks for visiting my corner of the internet. I hope you enjoy your stay!
